Program Description:
The Junior Bison Hockey Club is excited to launch our BRAND NEW Junior Bison Hockey Skills Academy. This SKILL DEVELOPMENT based program will be led by the University of Manitoba Bison Hockey Head Coaches Jon Rempel (Women’s program) and Mike Sirant (Men’s Program) and their University coaching staff along with some of their current Bison hockey players that are aspiring to be coaches. This program is open to both male and female hockey players.
The program is set up as a 6 week program of either Mondays & Wednesdays or Tuesdays & Thursdays of 60 minute on ice skill sessions plus 4 Saturdays (outlined below) where they will have 45 minutes of on ice technical skating followed by an off-ice 60 minute Intro to Strength & Conditioning session in our Bison High Performance Training Centre.
Our on ice program will be solely based on individual skills and tactics. Players will be grouped and split on the ice accordingly to skill and ability. We will have multiple coaches working within each session to allow for a variety of skill drills and small area games.
